Shawn’s love for community is visible every day in his work helping others find purpose and vision for their future. In 2010, he founded Corona’s Hope Recovery Center. The non-profit Center was born out of Shawn’s own life experience.
To one degree or another, we’ve all faced challenges. They reveal character, and our response to adversity defines us. For Shawn, health and addiction challenges faced over 13 years ago were transformational, not only overcoming them but using his success as a platform to help others restore their lives.
Through Hope Recovery, Shawn has the experience to tackle issues we see in the headlines daily such as the opioid crisis, suicide, and homelessness. Our community needs his solutions to prevent them from hitting epidemic levels seen throughout our state. The Corona Norco Unified School District approved Shawn to speak to teachers, parents, and students across all grade levels about drug awareness. Shawn has fostered strong relationships with local law enforcement who bring people to Hope Recovery for daily support programs. Hope Recovery is working with the local courts to make connections for the “Alternative Sentencing Program”. This program gave court-ordered individuals the alternative option to attend Hope Recovery for counseling opportunities and anger management classes.
“Hope was created to give people a safe and caring place to come to heal, restore, and transform from their hurts, habits and addictions.”
– Shawn Kelly
Providing these services to the community through Hope Recovery is costly. Shawn developed innovative solutions to fund the services necessary to transition people back to productive members of our community including the launch of HopeRadio247.com. The 24-hour internet radio station not only spreads the message of hope to our community but helped the center grow and prosper.
An advocate for families, Shawn Kelly has supported the efforts of Corona Life Services to protect life serving those in unplanned pregnancies. Shawn is an active member of the Corona Chamber of Commerce and was selected for their Executive Leadership Roundtable that prepares participants for positions on commissions and other public services. The nearly year-long program provides a comprehensive understanding of how business, first responders, military, and schools function and collaborate to serve our city.
